Getting Started with Datagrip Azure SQL

Datagrip is a powerful tool designed to help you connect to your databases efficiently. One of its key features is storing connection details, which are used to establish connections to various database vendors such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and more.

To start using Datagrip, you need to create corresponding data sources for each vendor. A data source is essentially a connection configuration that allows you to connect to your database.

Datagrip offers a range of tool windows that provide access to various development tasks. These tool windows enable you to view your database structure, run scripts, work with version control systems, and perform code analysis, search, navigation, and more. You can rearrange and detach these tool windows to suit your needs, such as attaching them to separate monitors.

When you open Datagrip for the first time or close the only open project, you are presented with a Welcome screen that provides an introduction to the IDE. From this screen, you can create a new project, open an existing one, or clone files from a Version Control System (VCS).

Before you start using Datagrip, ensure that you have installed the necessary software, including Git if you plan to use Sakila dump files at Step 4 of this quick start guide.
